ALL New Connections - Back by Popular Demand! I'm still receiving some great photos from all you RP Members. THANKS!
Keep them coming!
All you photogenic military personnel out there in RP Land let’s have a little photo session just to lighten it up today! Share the first photograph or the earliest photograph of yourself when you entered the military and tell us the date of the photo.
I'll start with Private Burroughs in 1975 at Fort Leonard Wood, MO & end with Colonel Mikel in 2005!

That was me as a cadet at Leader's Training Course on the top right-hand side at Fort Knox, Ky in June or July of 2004. About a year later after this photo was taken, I dropped out of ROTC & the Corps of Cadets at Texas A&M in order to get a job to pay for my LASIK eye surgery in order to receive a waiver so that I could go to the Army Aviation Warfighting Center & School. I enlisted while waiting, then, went to WOCS, became an Warrant Officer, flew helicopters, left Army Aviation, got pinned CW2, relinquished rank to become an Army CID Special Agent as a Buck SGT (E-5), got promoted to SSG (E-6), served a tour in Afghanistan (OEF), & then was selected as the only Direct Commission in Texas with the 2015 Officer Direct Accession (ODA) Board. Almost 12 years later I have made it full circle and am now a 2LT!

Me with my recruiter, Chief Porter at US Naval Base, London, England. My dad was stationed in England as a member of the US Air Force at the time. I joined the US Navy's Delayed Entry Program on March 13th, 1985 and then reported for boot camp on April 25th, 1985 at Naval Training Center, Orlando, Florida. Following boot camp, I ended up at Service School Command, Meridian, Mississippi for my self-paced course. Once finished, it was on to Submarine School, in New London, Connecticut. Following Sub School I was stationed with Submarine Group SIX at Charleston, South Carolina.
