All you photogenic military personnel out there in RP Land let’s have a little photo session just to lighten it up today! Share the first photograph or the earliest photograph of yourself when you entered the military and tell us the date of the photo.
I'll start with Private Burroughs in 1975 at Fort Leonard Wood, MO & end with Colonel Mikel in 2005!

Here's one I found from Basic Training Graduation. Turns out they do make Drill Sergeants in my size! (I am 5'2, he was maybe 5'3)

I look at this picture today as a 45YO and all I can think is: why didn't that woman know how incredibly beautiful she was???? I also wince EVERY time I see it because the collar is messed up!!!

I retook my basic training photo when I got to electronics school. Yep, that's my band rope LOL

Unfortunately, my first picture has been lost to the annals of time but, this one is darn close. It was taken the same day as the first. We were west of Al Sinjar, Iraq. We fought hard to make that city safe. Sad to see the good people of that town in peril again. The world needs to heal.
