ALL New Connections - Back by Popular Demand! I'm still receiving some great photos from all you RP Members. THANKS!
Keep them coming!
All you photogenic military personnel out there in RP Land let’s have a little photo session just to lighten it up today! Share the first photograph or the earliest photograph of yourself when you entered the military and tell us the date of the photo.
I'll start with Private Burroughs in 1975 at Fort Leonard Wood, MO & end with Colonel Mikel in 2005!

I lost all my basic training photos a few years back so the earliest one I have is from Tech School at Keesler in Nov 71.

Going through old documents and photos. One for each company (4) received this advanced promotion on day of graduation. Cadre told me they ask for a fifth for me. I was pleasantly surprised.

COL Mikel J. Burroughs Spc Mark Steven Keener after our welcome home parade from Desert Storm close as I can get to last in uniform. A drill sgt stopped me to have his picture taken with me at the event. It made me feel great that he wanted to be in a photo with me.

On the day of flight photo I was at Wilford Hall .. I had spent 3 hours night before at dispensary with a open head wound (slipped on some trainee’s soap carrier they dropped) isnsteaf of falllng back I went forward and hit step-over splittingng my head open . I didn’t get knocked out so I got over to my bunk and was able to get some clothes on.. Then the blood started.. got that stopped too..
Our MTI team member had been out side and another trainee got him.. They wasted no time.. Their parking area was right across from our barracks. By time they got ambulance there and got back to
Dispensary.. So he transported me over to dispensary inside of 3 or 4 minutes.. I got in and a Doc stitched me up.. about 5 stitches worth. ..just to make sure.. they took some x-rays .. .. I was ready to go back to barracks ... I got the ol’ light in the eyes test.. held the piece of gauze over an eye and had to tell them what letter.. as he pointedtgem out .. We taking you over to Wilford Hall, good thing it’s Saturday and you will not miss a day of training.... So to Wilford Hall I went.. another 3 hours .. they didn’t admit me..
just did some tests they didn’t have at dispensary.. They took me back by my Squadron. .. and I missed group pic.. Another flight was getting their group pic
After them the photo guy took a head shot and they photo-shopped me in..
it didn’t look right.. .. I shoved it in a drawer at home..
