ALL New Connections - Back by Popular Demand! I'm still receiving some great photos from all you RP Members. THANKS!
Keep them coming!
All you photogenic military personnel out there in RP Land let’s have a little photo session just to lighten it up today! Share the first photograph or the earliest photograph of yourself when you entered the military and tell us the date of the photo.
I'll start with Private Burroughs in 1975 at Fort Leonard Wood, MO & end with Colonel Mikel in 2005!

COL Mikel J. Burroughs Sir I will post once I find it. I think I might have to call my dad and have him take a picture of it and scan it to me or email it to me. I will post one though.

Couple of studs in this photo, although sad to say it was about 60# ago. Feels like a lifetime ago. Photo was taken on graduation day in Oct '95.
I'm on the left and my cousin is on the right, wearing sexy my BCGs. We managed to get in on the buddy program and same basic training flight because we weren't closely related (2nd cousin, once removed). I stayed in for the long haul on AD and he served his initial enlistment and time in the WI ANG and FL ANG before he hung up his uniform.

Graduation day! The first day of actually having earned the title United States Marine! Nov 7, 1980. Pictured with my father, adopted grandmother, mother and older brother.
Never got the dress blues picture that most recruits did because I was called away for interviews byt the Bravo Company CO both times.

It hadn't occurred to me until now. Of all the graduation ceremonies for all my siblings (I'm the 7th son of 8, no sisters), this was the only graduation that my dad ever attended. That even included 2 of my brothers graduation from the Naval Training Center in San Diego (Just the other side of the fence from MCRD San Diego.) It was also the very first time that he ever gave a compliment. "You did good."
