Do you keep promotable status if going from the Reserves to active duty?

I was just informed by my reserve unit that I got my promotable status for E-5. My conditional release to go back active is already approved, ive been to the recruiter and I should be going to MEPS this coming week. Im perfectly fine with going to board when I get to my new unit, just curious if the status transfers over. I know it transfers from Active to the reserve, just curious if it goes the other way?

As far as I understand, because of the way the RC does its promotion system, you won't stay promotable. You'll have to meet the Active Army standards and attend a board or else have enough time for MLI.

On the good side, you will keep your date of rank. The MEPS will usually mess that up. Once you get to your unit make sure your BASD, PEBD and DIEMS are correct and then they can update your DOR. The authority for it is in AR 600-20 Army Command Policy.

ok, thank you. That's kind of the answer I was expecting to hear. I meet all the requirements need for promotion, will just have to go to the board. And the recruiter I've been with put a copy of my promotion orders to SPC in my packet to MEPS. So hopefully I can avoid any problems. Thank you again
