Hey Folks, many have heard of Outward Bound, an organization started in the '40s to help mature a young population going to war.
Outward Bound has created 6-day adventure courses for veterans of OEF/OIF... FOR FREE, including travel/air fare!!
Whitewater rafting, mountaineering, dog sledding, ocean kayaking, and several others!!
I've done 1 course and am about to go on my 2nd... FOR FREE!! And they have slots open for their upcoming course in 1 week, as well as another in 3 weeks!
http://www.outwardbound.org - Right side, "Program" field, select "Veterans," (and deselect "Wilderness")... That's it. SIGN UP! Live the adventure!

Great stuff for those who have the time available. Hopefully the word will get out to fill all those slots! Thanks for sharing this!

I'm getting in on this. I need some mountaineering courses before my Denali expedition. The more experience, the better.

It's a great program for it's intended purpose, but I wouldn't expect any kind of assistance in developing further outdoor skills. I mean if you've already started training then you have likely already done more for yourself than anything this 6-day course will show you.
Enjoy nonetheless!
