Do you lack trust in your comrades based on religion?

70%??? That seems a little high. I can tell you there's not been one person I've met at my unit that cares about religious preference. Soldiers trust the person based on character, actions, and track record. Not religion. Just my experience. If these numbers are correct that leaves 30% of the force lacking trust in fellow SM's. A little high for this career field.

I've seen some of my fellow Christians be the most hateful individuals you can imagine, just because someone is different, and I've seen Muslim soldiers who would give you the shirt off their backs, whether they know you or not.
Religion is not an indicator of a person's character, and would NOT cause me to immediately mistrust someone.

And yet anecdotes don't equal data. One of my Masonic brothers in my mother Lodge is a Muslim, and we would give our lives for each other if needed.

PO1 Greg Stiff I believe you did not fully understand what the Chief was trying to say. He did not portray Christians in a bad light at all. He merely stated his experience with SOME of them.
I was raised Southern Baptist, and from many, not all, I witnessed nothing but hypocrisy. They would act one way during the week and then on Sunday be super good. That being said however, I respect ALL religions and don't judge folks based on their religious preferences. There are aspects and lessons from many world religions that we can learn from.

Anecdotes don't equal data, but we are shaped by our experiences, not bar graphs. The original question is one of trust, not a strict understanding of numbers and data. I would imagine the Christians in Nigeria that suffer attacks from Boko Haram will have a hard time reconciling their preconceptions with any data.

I read CW3 (Join to see) 's statement and the last thing I percieved was a bias in any way, shape, or form. I do see a member who is trying to drag anther member through the mud for something he neither said or did PO1 Greg Stiff. Your thread that you started to try to add to your belief of Christian persecution has been removed. Your actions were done in very poor judgement and clearly not called for. I urger you to read and reread the RP 3-1 guidelines BEFORE you post your next discussion thread.
MAJ Laurie H. please read this discussion and the thread that I shut down.

I don't think service members who would hold something like that against an individual would be the ones coming to your aid under fire in the first place.

Personally, I think of religion, in the military, about the same as STD's. If you have one, I don't need to know about it. Neither one will have a bearing on whether or not I trust you or your work, but if you continue to tell me about either one, I might begin to question your judgement.
