Do you suggest that I bring my family to Fort Huachuca or leave them at my last duty station until I complete training?

I’m here now. As a MOS-T I’m pretty sure you will have to bring your family at some point, unless you have a special circumstance. The school is considered a PCS cuz it is 10 months long, but the command here is pretty understanding of situations. Most guys with families here had a couple month grace period to bring their families over.

I’ve been here since July, though I didn’t start the course for almost 6 weeks due to an influx of IETers. The course can be... stressful at times. As long as you study hard and take good notes you will do fine.

I guess it’s up to you! Sierra Vista is a very small town. If your family would be happier in Gordon, have that discussion! I hope everyone is super happy with whatever you decide to do!

If it is a PCS length School, then you have to bring them. If it is not, then you will be TDY enroute and not authorized to bring them.
If it is a TDY enroute then you will receive assignment instructions to your follow-on duty station 90 days prior to your course start. You will go to the course, return to clear, and leave with your family to your new Duty assignment.

SGT(P) (Join to see) if it is a year-long, then that is a PCS length School and you will be assigned to the school.
