Hello, all! I'm just trying to get a feel of what more I need to do to be competitive. All of my previous Warrants have told me I should put my packet together, which I've already started doing. For the record, I meet the minimum requirements for a Warrant Selection. Here's a little about my career:

•TIS:6.5 years
•TIG: 1.5 year
•1 Deployment( OEF)
•Battle Field Promotion to SPC
•4 Stellar NCOERS
•MOS: 13R Radar
•66 Credits of College
•289 PT Score
•DHG in AIT
•SSD 3 completed
•ALC Grad

Get ahold of proponent and get AAR board results to see how you complete or just put a packet in. Worse they can say is no.

SSG (Join to see) I think your "rap sheet" is very impressive and you would make an incredibly competent Warrant in any man's army!!!

Just like anything else, you won’t know until you try. You know yourself better than anyone so don’t let someone else’s opinion drive your desire to be a WO. Your endorsements hold a lot of weight, which you’ll most likely…10/10 times, be writing the LORs yourself and your senior warrant/BC will make the edits they deem needed. I say go for it, make your LORs as strong as possible in order to sell yourself. The packet is very self explainable. The LORs and interviews will be where you need to focus most of your effort. Good luck.

No mention of college. Remember as a spot to W2 it's automatic if you keep your nose clean. However, in a couple of years after you make W3 your are. Then competing against other warrants that do have college. I saw when I was an instructor at WOCC that a lot of college grads were coming through the program. Drop by the ed center and get an evaluation.

Out of 3 other friends of which we put our packets on at the same time, i was the only one 1st select. We compared our resumes which were all basically the same, only I had 2 years of Platoon Sergeant time and the others had no Platoon Sergeant time! Once they got some platoon time they were all selected next time around.
