Do you think that awards should not count for promotion points?

I think it takes away from the meaning of the award. They were never intended to be used to get promoted. They were meant to honor an individual for an outstanding accomplishment.

I think they should account for promotion points. Awards are earned just as passing the APFT and Marksmanship badges are earned. Awards can help separate other soldiers from the rest of the crowd.

If they revamp the promotion system where you don't need the awards for points then I can see your point. The way the promotion system is right now soldiers need the awards to be points otherwise they will never be promoted. I see your point though and if system is revamped I agree.

PCS awards shouldn't be accounted for in the promotion system
I have long felt that awarding someone for just being at a unit is a mistake..
If that soldier did something worthy of an award, why wasn't given earlier?
As for awards given going above and beyond, I feel the should count!
They are a great measure of what that soldier has done and of what they are capable of....
But thats just my $0.02
