(CNN) A 95 year-old German man will go on trial next month for crimes allegedly committed during his time as a medical attendant at the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp in Poland, a district court in Germany said in a statement. The man, identified as Hubert Z., is accused of being an accessory to at least 3,681 murders over a one month period in 1944. http://cnn.it/1PF3nD9

There is no statue of limitations on murder. There is no statute of limitations on war crimes. There is no statute of limitations on evil.

Exactly, failure to charge this medic would be an insult to the memory of all the innocents slain in the quest of a tyrant to gain superiority.

The ONLY concern I have about it is I read somewhere that he already served a prison sentence for his role- if he did then why is he being charged again if he paid his debt?

Beyond that- yes. Of COURSE he should be charged. I think that people who commit genocide need to know that you can run. You can hide. You can even possibly fly under the radar for YEARS. But you will be found, and you will PAY. Then the rest of the world needs to commit to hunt these monsters to the END OF THE EARTH. Genocidal assholes NEED the message that the ends of the earth will not save them. That includes the ones committing genocide in Africa, Middle East, and South America to name a few- RIGHT NOW as I write this. So- is the promise of execution sufficient to STOP this behavior?

Absolutely! Prosecuting him is more symbolic than anything at this point though. It sends a message that justice knows no time. It sends a message that those who were murdered aren't forgotten.

May he stand in judgment of both his peers and his maker. Either way, the latter will get it right.
