What locations do you know that are authorized for SSI-FWTS but not IDP? I could see locations that are retroactively authorized for SSI-FWTS but they usually go hand in hand, no? I've seen an SOP where IDP had to be granted before the SSI-FWTS was authorized.

1LT (Join to see) - The question you're asking is the reverse of what MAJ (Join to see) asked. He asked if a country receiving IDP was authorized SSI-FWTS. You're asking if there are any countries where you would receive SSI-FWTS that you would not receive IDP. Basically, a country can be designated dangerous enough to where operations would necessitate IDP, but still not be a designated combat zone. e.g. Mindanao/Sulu Archipelago, Philippines; Sabah, Malaysia; East Timor; various regions of Indonesia. There are several more regions all around the world as well. You can find the full list in the DoD FMR. None of those areas are combat zones so you would not receive CZTE or SSI-FWTS, but you would receive IDP.

To your question, I believe you are correct. Any country that you would receive SSI-FWTS from you would also receive IDP. (It just doesn't work the other way around.)

CW4 Keith Dolliver - Appreciate it chief. I did ask the reverse, intentionally, because they seemed to go hand in hand to me. Thanks for your response because it cleared the issue up for me as well!
