I've considered going to the VA due to arthritis in my knees, tinnitus, hearing loss, and a few other things. But it has also been a life goal of mine to serve as an Officer. I've been told to go to the VA immediately if I have a service connected injury. At the same time, none of these conditions are stopping me from serving yet, and I remain medically qualified for my current MOS. I'm motivated to serve, and know I can still make a useful contribution to the Army Reserves. So my question is, if I get a rating for these conditions, will I still be able to commission, or do I simply have to choose between the rating, and becoming an officer? Thanks in advance for your guidance.

What college have you done? How much? What level? Assoc? Bach? GPA? Specific course titles? STEM coursework if any? Hobbies? Interests? Ambitions? Do a really detailed bio sketch, the more you send in, the more can be suggested, whether by !e, or by others...look at USPHS COSTEP, the USPHS analogue to ROTC...I'm here if you want to ask staff anutime, I fathom what younwantz however, you'd need to nenflexible, and maybe retrain, I need to kmownwhatmyouve got thus far...also, get your DANTES or Amer Council on Educ (ACEl mil transcript, as well...also, doid you do any AP coursework in high school? Have you looked at using DANTES or CLEP for exams for course credit at all? Tell me more, and I'll try to suggest routes you could try to take, be as specific as humanly possoblez so I'd be able to know how to suggest things for you as optimally as possible, OK?

USPHS is for clinical training and active duty,mi just didn't know if you'd wanted it...NOVA is an assoc of VA disability attorneys, one of if not the finest in the US, I merely thought you might want to know about hem if you had to do a VA claim, they !might also offer you insight into MEB/PEB, possibly,mi don't know about that, you'd need to ask....

I only siggestmUSPHS as they might perhaps be more liberal about your clinical condition, however, of you want international studies, as you say, I'd honestly aim for law, a JD with a PhD in political science would be an optimal goal for you, I think...let !e send morez to illustrate....

Look at going USPHS if you’d want the clinical side they might be more flexible whether you’d have IT for health info mgmt you might have to retrain they might be your best chance honest....

And don't think solely of Army, look at all svcs...your clinical condition sounds qwiite involved, though it:s notnsuitwble for kemto go into that aspect, I'm total perm disabled, and was only doctoral level allied health, though we shut my license sevl urs ago, my wife and I, for the disability....honestly, I think law and a PhD in in political sci would be nest...JD lawyers also often go for a subsequent !asters called an LLM, not a PhD, look it up, and take LSAT when your ready, OK?

This isn't an easy way to do law, the bar exam pass rates are quite low, I've been told, so it:s not a panacea by any means, I merely include it to illustrate a point, I've been told the pass rates are only about half, and only in WA States elsewhere, the pass rates are pretty abysmal, I just include it here for perspective, that',s all....
