Comics used to be funny. Now, they make me think. (I'd prefer laughing) This one got me to thinking... We set age limits on driving, drinking, voting, and more. Some things simply happen with age. Generals are older than privates. Does something magical happen when we reach those ages? Yes, most of us get larger (in one way or another) with age, but not necessarily wiser or more competent, do we?

I think the saying, 'you can't teach an old dog new tricks' is partially true, so as I get older I strive to not fall into patterns, one serious example for me is drinking. I can look at the examples of older people who have never changed, look at divorces and it's usually two grown ass adults who act like children for decades because of immature behavior and continuing it for years. I don't know where I am on the scale, I don't want to get older and be stuck in the same patterns is all, the later years might be the better ones, who knows?
