Does AGR do recruiting in Germany? i.e. Katterbach Or Illesheim? Or can you do AGR in those areas?

I'm having trouble getting Back into active duty from the IRR, so I've decided AGR recruiting is the next step. I know where I need to start but I want to know If there are positions for AGR recruiting or normal AGR in Katterback or Illesheim. My wife is an active duty 15R and can only be stationed in Germany in those areas. We intend to live in Germany with the Army again, but since active duty might not be an option I'm looking into it.

Hey everyone. Appreciate the information! I’m back in the Army, now reserves, and or will be in one week time. I’m now in a 30 slot so I’m on the fast track to getting my SSG I’m gunning for retention

Good job. You're probably on the right track, trying to get on in the Recruiting field. There may be some non-AGR slots for recruiting and retention personnel, but once you're on board just ask around. I'm sure you'll find recruiting/retention people to be helpful since the Army Reserve is understrength, and seems to always need Personnel.

They should have Reserve Component Career Counselors assigned there who are AGR. But their tour is 3 years, so there might not be an opening. Plus, I'm not sure they accept E5 for the position.

They don’t accept E5 for the retention/career counselor job but I’m not to worried because I’m filling a 30 slot so I should be looking at ncoes soon

There are USAR recruiting & retention personnel in Germany located at the enduring Army bases in Germany (Grafenvoehr, Ansbach, Stuttgart, Hoenfels, etc.). They mostly just support units under the 7th Civil Support Command. Not sure how you can contact them, for some reason, the Army Reserve makes it hard for Personnel to get information on units in the USAR (even current AGR Soldiers).
You may think about joining a USAR unit in Germany & then putting in your AGR packet once you're a drilling reservist. It may make you more competitive for an AGR spot or maybe you could find some ADOS position on Tour of Duty that you could apply for while waiting for an AGR slot to open up.

WO1 Jacob Wellman - I've never seen an AGR Soldier attached to an regular active duty "deployable" unit on a permanent basis. The only AGR Soldiers are assigned to active duty units are normally TDA units that don't deploy: Army Central Command (ARCENT), Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), and the National Simulation Center (NSC) at Ft. Leavenworth, KS has AGR slots for 57A Officers. If they're deployed, an AGR or Reserve/NG Soldier can be attached to an active duty unit, which I was for OIF II- 2004 to 2005.
There are many Active Component (AC) Soldiers assigned to Army Reserve units, these are mostly training units but they also include the 377th Theater Sustainment Command, since they historically have supported SOUTHCOM.
