Anybody know of anyone getting a mental health waiver approved to join Guard? I have VA service connection for PTSD 70% and looking into the California Guard.

Cpl Ben Juarez that would be a major change from when I Was forced to retire because I took Prozac, it made me non deployable. I’d be interested in what you find out,

Maj Kim Patterson It's starting to change for the better. SSRIs/SNRIs no longer make you non-deployable from the most recent list I reviewed. However, there may be a stabilization period with new prescriptions. The list of medications that make you non-deployable is much more narrow, and it appeared that it was mostly drugs that required close monitor to maintain therapeutic dosing (lithium, certain antipsychotics) or to prevent abuse (benzodiazepines, stimulants for ADHD, chronic-use opioids).
