I have known many fellow reserve Soldiers who work in security. What's the real question here@

I’m not talking about security guard at a mall. I’m talking about contracting overseas.

Cpl Jt Cutchin I was talking about federal armed security.. A step up from mall cop. I don't know if you are being snarky, but if you had taken the time to be more clear on the first place....

I met a reservist who was also an intelligence analyst as a contractor, if that's what you're asking.

Cpl Jt Cutchin Do you have a concern about being a Reservist and a Security Contractor?

Yes, maritime security contracting and being in the reserves. I’m prior service so I would be going back into the military to be in the reserves.

Cpl Jt Cutchin you just have to work it out with your command team to meet your obligation. Only the commander can waive your obligation

Cpl Jt Cutchin - If you're talking schedules, you would have to work all that out with the unit commander, and your current civilian boss. The Reserves requires you to be there one weekend a month, and two weeks a year (mission dependent). Some units will not allow anyone to miss out on Annual Training, while others will allow it under very extenuating circumstances. There are plenty of Service Members who are contractors and drill with a unit, including security contractors.
