I'm not advocating the position of the author but he mentions a story about the OSS loosing 2 of 3 teams sent to Burma before one could establish contact with friendly LN who assisted their mission.

Charles it is funny you ask because I this is the same book I gave to my right hand who just took my old BN. "Behind Japanese Lines; With the OSS in Burma" The instructor teaching us UW during the Q Course let me borrow his copy. 1st thing I was humbled to even say I was following such great men. 2nd I was overwhelmed with pride knowing they were the forefathers of SF and the CIA.
I haven't read it myself but "Behind Japanese Lines" was a book a couple people said was good.

If you can find any books written by OSS, OSI, or OSE the Jedburgh Teams in Germany. Wow, they were the real deal. What is the best is some of the recruiting stories, they crack me up. COL Wild Bill Donavan was the man.
I just finished "Flying the Hump, Memories of an Air War", which covers a bit of everything in Theater related to the Air Lift, which was essentially everything. This one interested me because my father served in the Air Lift from the beginning until November 1945 and had meet Chennault, Wingate and Merrill.
