Does anyone have a template on how the appeal statement for BLC is suppose to look?

It’s not for me, it’s for my soldier. He has been dismissed for academic reasons. He wants to appeal because of technical issues and his financial hardship. Please respond we only have 1 week

I've never heard of an appeal for an NCOES dismissal, especially a week later. If they were dismissed before the end of the course, which is usually the case, they will have missed a week of POI and be ineligible to be reinstated in the course. As they brief at the start of any military course there is a specific number of hours of POI you can miss before being dropped from the course.
If your Soldier was dropped then they need to get another class seat. Your command must send a 4187 to the Commanding General for their endorsement before requesting another class seat. That applies to all NCOES regardless of the reason they do not complete the course. That is an HRC rule

When I went through SLC, there was an appeal process that goes to the commandant for a decision. It is very very very rare that a commandant will overturn a decision, unless the dismissal wasn't in line with their ISAP/initial counseling. The Soldier remains in the course until the end of the appeal process. I've never ever heard of it taking a week, usually 24-48 hours.

CPT (Join to see) I was thinking the same. I know when I attended PLDC there was an appeal process, but it was immediate, and not a week later. It wasn't even a letter, you just stood in front of the Commandant and stated your case.

Rgr I understand. I looked it up myself and it is true that you have 7 days upon the date of dismissal to appeal. That is why the deadline is this Friday.

Since the Soldier did t complete NCOES school he will have a sit down with the CSM for BLC and explain what happened. Ensure he has anything that can assist him as it’ll all have to be submitted, processed and reviewed by CSM. Hopefully he’ll be able to graduate. Unless he has enough evidence CSM may kick him out of school and he’ll have to wait 6 months to retry NCOES.

I went to PNCOC an if you dropped for any reason you had to get a new start date in up coming class.

Simply state “CSM, the Army has rules, as does the NCOES system, however that said, I believe with the underlying circumstances, I am without fault - here is why!” Explain your issue/matter. Once done, thank them for their time with that matter and state you will respect the outcome of their decision. Once a decision is made, do an about face without incident, other than simply, “Thank you for your time!” - you have your answer! Move-out...

I would say be forthright and not try to shade the truth at all. Certainly present a defense, but be able to substantiate it and demonstrate how he could otherwise be successful. Other than that, take this as a lesson learned, train up for the next attempt, and get back on the horse.
