My XO and I have taken upon ourselves to develop a unit SOP for convoys. Does anyone have a unit SOP I can reference and use as a guide?

I have a few manuals and convoy check lists but I wanted to see if someone out there has a good SOP established as a frame of reference. Thanks!

I would have posted this under the tag 88A, not 91A. Those guys are your subject matter experts on convoys. I don't have anything personally but I have a good friend who is a trans officer. If I hear anything I'll pm you.

Yes, Sir. That makes more sense. I'm not too familiar with posting on Rally Point so I just tagged the groups I am in. I'll try and add their tag. Thank you, Sir.

Just as a supplement to my question, the SOP is for non tactical convoys moving the company to and from training sites throughout the state. Our vics include HMMWVs, LMTVs, FMTVs, & wreckers.

Sir, I don't have a physical form on me, but one thing that helped me when I organized convoys was making sure everybody knew their job while we were rolling. (I.E. Who's changing the flat tire? Who's getting help on the phone?, etc. Designate those people and call them out at convoy brief time.
Also, don't be afraid to put in place contingency plans. For example, Where to go if severe weather overtakes the convoy? The right answer for that is have someone have a regular FM Radio so the convoy can receive warnings. Radio Stations are mandated by law to broadcast t-storm and tornado warnings. Also, the golden rule for severe weather on the road is find substantial shelter. Find a gas station, a bank, a store, a Walmart, anywhere, but don't be in a vehicle in that. It's bad news.

Thank you, SGT. I'll be sure to add those to the SOP.
