Does anyone have advice on going through the CID program from being a civilian?

I am looking into the CID program that is now offered to civilians. I am talking with a recruiter. I meet all the criterion for being a CID agent from a civilian. However, I have been advised to only talk with Officer recruiters and not enlisted recruiters, in order to get the best outcome and not be lied to. Does anyone have advice on this? Has anyone gone through the CID program from being a civilian?
