My mother joined the military and an 88M and went to basic at Fort Dix, New Jersey in 1985. From the information I gathered she spent some time in Fort Benning prior to her first duty station In Bad Kreuznach, Germany where I was born in March of 1896. He is not on my birth certificate but according to my uncle, he and my mom were best friends at the time (i assume) and he was also in the military. I believe his name to be Todd hedges but I cannot be sure. My mother would not discuss any information about him to me and would get angry when I brought it up as a child. However my mother has been dead now for 8 years and I have children of my own and would like to know more about my story any help would be much appreciated thank you

I actually found my biological father in March of 2014. I had to ask my mother some uncomfortable question of whom might my father be. She had his name and phone number. I called him and we arranged to meet in Jacksonville, FL to do a DNA swab. That was on a Saturday. That Wednesday they called me and told me that 99.9% this was my father.

I am truly happy for you that you finally found your father. I know what it is like to grow up without one and wondering who he may be. I wish I could go back in time and ask my mother and make her tell me but sadly I cannot, and can only go forward from here

SFC Bryson Amaral - is she not alive? Did she have any siblings that may possibly know. I am so sorry for your loss if this is the case and certainly understand. I had a stepfather but it is nothing like knowing your own biological father and what makes you, you. So I will pray for you my brother that you are able to bring some type of closure or identity to whom he might be. I am very grateful to have found mine at the time I was 46 years of age.

SFC Bryson Amaral - I was in for 20 yrs and like I said I was a 88m it could be very possible I may know him or may know someone that does. Send me a message in my inbox and we can exchange numbers and talk more in detail so I can try and help. I just feel God is moving me to help you as much as I can brother.

Me too brother. Me too, hell I couldn't even get the death benefits for my mom when she died. I tried calling the record Center in Missouri and kept getting voicemail after voicemail. I know it's only $300 but I should have gotten it, all I have is her DD 214 the American flag and memories most of her jewelry was stolen from my house the day I was sent on leave from deployment in 2009 materialistically I have one ring that I kept on me under my body armor but I still have it to this day and never leaves my side

Have you tried DNA tests? Ancestry and 23andMe are two good ones. I have found a 2nd and 3rd cousin on them and through other DNA cousins.
