Below is a link where you can read more information. I was just sitting the the DFAC yesterday and seen an army commercial.come on with this information. It basically is a Da Form 4187 that the commander signs off on to allow a soldier to be pinned Sergeant if they meet requirements and have their P status. All they would be missing is the school (BLC). If they are overseas and not given the opportunity to attend it allows the soldier serve as an NCO prior to school and a 2 year time frame to complete the schooling. Are there any ALARACTS, MILPER MESSAGES, ETP or new regulations regarding this?

My Platoon Sergeant and I are looking into this with our 1SG. I do have an email with a template 4187 to request this that has all the references in it. Send me an email in outlook and I will send you what I have.

From what I understand, it's for SM's who are in a Forward element (meaning overseas like Korea, Kuwait, Iraq, Afghanistan, and more) that wont be able to attend school but made their needed points to get promoted but once returning back to home station they will then attend school. This is how I understand it but I'm not 100% for sure.

That is also how I understand it as well. I'm trying to see if it's in a regulation or Milper Message because it could possibly help out a few soldiers that I'm deployed with who have not had an opportunity to attend BLC out here but otherwise meet all requirements.

SGT (Join to see) - Ask your S-1 about it. They should know exactly what is needed and everything. I have heard about this and heard of some people getting promoted being overseas but not having their NCOES done but attending NCOES upon returning to home station.

It is good that will still allow SM deployed in support of contingency operations the opportunity to advance and not be hindered.
