Does anyone have any insight on SFAB? Is it worth doing?

I’m currently the brigade SATCOM NCO for 2SFAB and it’s really not bad at all. There’s quite a bit of training and the OPTEMPO is pretty fast but in all it’s a great assignment. We just got back from Afghanistan so we’re mostly on leave right now but for a bit we were already planning to go out again in late 2020. Not sure if it’s still happening but overall the job is great. You’ll focus small team ops and really get into helping the FSF better themselves. Some teams had it better than others but everyone had their success with their specific mission sets. I would give it some consideration.

Right now they are hiring for 3 SFAB at Ft Hood, getting ready to hire, or are starting to, for 4 SFAB at Lewis.
Whether or not you are doing the actual training will depend on your teams assessment of the host nation force you are working with. If they need it, you do it. But we cant train all of the host nation force, so we try to focus on train the trainer techniques instead.
