Does anyone have experience with joining the Border Patrol or becoming a CBPO?

I also desire joining customs border patrol but i still have over a year left in my enlistment(army) and I plan on a year(months) extention. Should I wait until im out of the army to applying or do I apply and say that i still have a contract to finishs would this be negatively veiwed? I could`nt find this answer on the cbp website maybe some insight '

Been trying to get on for about 2 years now it's a typical hurry up and wait government operation which is sad because the duty station I applied for is under half manned right now

Did 8 years with CBP. And the tattoo policy is visable tats on the arms are allowed, provide non racist, gang related and such.

Seen members of management with forearm tattoo and such.

Just be advised that you be working alot of OT if on the southern border and be willing to be treated like a pvt again.
