My wife is comming into the Army from the Navy in October. She has soft orders to Ft Lewis and I have soft orders to Hunter AA. I am currently trying to figure out if I should try and get my orders changed to Ft Lewis so we can be together. Because there are no spots open for her MOS (68E) at Hunter.

Never go to JBLM, Savannah AAF is a gem of a duty station

I was in the GSAB- 2-3 that’s where most of the Tangos go if you aren’t at the higher maintenance level. Its location, location, location. That was my first Aviation assignment. It was fun- spent a lot of time in the Middle East.

When I was stationed at Hunter my wife was station at Fort aSteward. Have they looked there? If you want to be with your wife you have no choice but to go to JBLM. Hunter is a sweet assignment- or it was.

Yes Sir, my wife asked her coordinator at MEPS about our options for assignment. They stated there was an option for her and I there, but her orders are only soft orders as of right now. She still has to pass Basic in order to potentially make those orders. She knows about her orders since she doesn't have to go to AIT again because she is doing the same job she did in the Navy. The real kicker I see about this situation is that we don't know the likely hood of those orders changing when she gets her Hard orders. I am confident though that she will pass Basic since she did field Corpsman training with the Navy which requires her to carry heavier loads than what we carry in basic.

I have not since she is not Army just yet. Her EAS from the Navy isn’t until October. Then she goes to basic the very next day.

PFC (Join to see) - You are married so... better to get the paperwork started now. You can do it even if she hasn't ETS'ed yet, because you are married already.

Go to Hunter, before you sign in go to the 160th and sign in, it will be the best decision of your life. They can pull her also, only if she doesn't sign in at Ft. Lewis though. Once she signs in, she's there.

I am trying to get my flight packet approved and be a flight warrant for 160th. I talked to my instructor (who came from 160th's flight company) and he stated that that would be the best route if I want both of my goals to become a reality.

If you get letter's of recommendation from warrant officers and commander's from the 160th, it will be that much better for you. Are they taking canidates for WOC that wear glasses?? They did not when I applied many years ago.

True - 160th has the pull, if that's what you both want.
