Actually, that’s not going to work out if you’re OCONUS. Your branch is not going to just delete your assignment and extend your DEROS for no reason. They are required to place you on assignment as you approach your DEROS

Something is failing this Soldier right here. I am assuming this is your BN S1 if you are active doesn't know how to do this? If not they should be able to go to BDE and find out the answer. I would have your FLL talk to your PLT SGT get to the bottom of this. I would give you an example, but I myself would have to ask my highers if they have done one. Which, I will not hesitate to do if I don't know the answer. Have you talked to your First Line Leader?

HRC is not going to delete your assignment just so you can stay an additional 60days. You probably should have extended prior to receiving assignment instructions. You will still have to request an extension to stay the additional 60 days which is different from a deletion. Without a justified reason, you’re not going to be able to get either. This is probably why S1 couldn’t help you with the request. Most extensions are usually 6-12 months, not two. And again, because you are already on assignment, your extension or deletion probably won’t get approved. Good luck to you.
