Does anyone know how your APFT score is calculated if you are on permanent profile and you have to do 2.5 mile walk?

Not exactly, because he is an E4-E5 there is a method to calculate the promotion points. AR 600-8-19 para 3-16.
It used to be you averaged your other scores now you just get 60 points for waived events.

Do you want to be an NCO someday? If so, learn the regs. That's what leaders do. This saves you from embarrassment when someone give you the wrong answer and your telling the 1SG "but so and so said X Y Z".

That's the way every NCO should be with their soldiers to teach them to take your spot when the time comes.
Keep up the great job SSG.

Read the FM!
Edit to add: This could go two different ways. If you are talking about promotion, you will need to look in a different area. Otherwise, FM 7-22 clearly covers this.

Field Manual's are not regulation. For the regulation for determining how/when to score an alternate cardio event, you need to refer to AR 350-1

MAJ (Join to see) Sir, while you are correct that the FM is not a regulation, Appendix A of FM 7-22 clearly describes the scoring for the alternate events.

Look at the chart. You get points just like the run. Add it to your push ups and situps.

If I am not mistaken it's a Go-No Go event, unless your going for the promotion board. Hopefully this link will warrant more information

You take your score from your first two event and add together. Once you get that total divide by 2 and that's your score for the walk

He's an E4 so for promotion points only there is a calculation to average out the scores so he is not penalized for a profile.

your training NCO and your first line leader should know this. I invite you to educate yourself through them
