I re enlisted for alaska recently and I report in Feb of 2019. The unit I'm in now may deploy again not too long after that. I'm trying to catch another deployment, is it possible to get locked in for the next deployment/ get my orders pushed to the right? It's a 6 year contract, 1 year of overlap, 3 at Alaska, and 2 needs of the army. Anyone know if there's a loophole somewhere?

Ditto what Carpenter said, much will depend on the status of your unit (current) and if they at willing to buck the system for you.

So it would be possible? The unit I am in now is always needs of the army. No one likes Polk for some reason.
