My wife has created a Facebook page specifically for the families of the Marines at my reserve unit. It's a little outdated, and a little barren, but well-intended. Does anyone know of something like this, that can give examples or offer advice on how to improve the page? Anything helps.

The page can be viewed here: https://www.facebook.com/ourmtplatoon/

That's a great service, but a lot of what they offer falls short on the reserve side. This page is supposed to break the idea that reserves are just "that thing you do once a month" and prevent the spousal threat of "if you go to AT, you are coming back to an empty house"... Although there are services like the FRO and OneSource, they don't take those issues into consideration and when they do, it usually falls flat. This is supposed to be more personal and relatable at the platoon level.

I'm active Army, we have AER loans. It's loan you can get if you need help with finances. We also have MF AP services to help with finances. Military one source also offers 12 free sessions of therapy if that's something someone needs. I'm sure the Marines have similar programs to help its members.

1SG (Join to see) - the therapy sessions are the one good solid thing that Military OneSource provides in the reserves. Any financial support reserve-wise and you are out of luck with them. The sad reality is that many of these issues are caused by money problems.
