I have now on two separate occasions used the new VA Urgent Care Benefit. It works well at the minute clinic, I see a PA or Nurse practitioner and they prescribe medication. The prescription is printed out on a Voucher and you are supposed to be able to take the voucher to a VA approved pharmacy and have it filled for free. I take the prescription to Walgreens which is an approved pharmacy however they are unable to fill the prescription because it comes back that my prescription benefit has expired? I spent four hours on the phone talking with 9 different departments of the VA healthcare system and nobody I spoke with knows how to access and correct the incorrect data. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Has anyone found who to call. Express Scripts sees the issue but cannot correct it on their end and they don't know who to call at the VA? TriWest couldn't resolve the issue either. My servicing VA clinic couldn't help, The VA Hospital couldn't help, and VA Community care was at a loss also? When My Doctor called the automated system it said, I am good to go however someone input some bad data and it needs to be corrected for the pharmacy benefit to work.
