Does anyone think there is a gap between those "who stand the wall", and the society that benefits from this?

I just finished reading Warrior Ethos. Great book, easy read. He makes clear the challenges of being a warrior within a non-warrior culture. We defend the freedoms and liberties with our oath and our lives, and they don't understand what we do or why. On the positive side, the US military is still the most trusted component of the entire federal government.

From the time we remove the pledge of allegiance from our classrooms the private sectors capacity to grasp the true sacrifices of service members has diminished greatly, to the point where it is almost non existent. I am for defending the freedoms of this great country, and I believe that all members of society should be able to live as they choose as long as they do not violate the laws of the land and impose their choices on others in the name of some skewed version of one of our amendments. These articles are not grey, they are clear and concise, yet we pay 9 Justices to read between the lines and they often side with the PC of the day instead of standing fast on the principles before us. If we do no right these wrongs in court we will forever lose what made this country great.
