I have works submitted for copyright already, but I'm really in the dark about Royalties, and ASCAP isn't helping much.

SGT (Join to see) - Unfortunately, the previous poster is correct. you may want to talk to an attorney to learn the in's and out's of the process from a "neutral" party. That being said, I found a very good blog post with links to some resources that may help.

Thanks for the link, Mark. I'm going to uppercut the recommendations by talking with some professors in the music school on campus. Cheating is living.

SGT (Join to see) - As someone who studied music, I am slapping my forhead going, "Why didn't I think of talking to the Music Department at the local Uni?" Good luck, and let me know what you find out.

SSgt Mark Lines - The answers a professor gave me revolved around figuring out what's going on with my SoundExchange.com account and ASCAP doesn't handle digital plays from Youtube, Reverbnation, Soundcloud, etc. I also got leads for sharing my music - jinglepunks, syncdeal, youlicense, and musicdirectx.

Depends on who you have publish them. Doesn't have to be through ASCAP. You could also try contacting various contemporary composers directly and asking them.

Again I would seek out current contemporary composers. I've never sought out publishers for my works since I do it more out of hobby's sake. Try some of the music groups on Facebook. They might be able to help you out more than me.

You should consult a civilian attorney. JAG will not help with personal business matters because it is outside tbe scope of their representation.

I didn't know Veterans had the option to talk with JAG about much of anything. I have a hard time believing that I'd have to hire an attorney to learn about royalties.
