I'm attending CLS in a few weeks and was wondering if I'll receive a certification card from the Red Cross for First Aid/CPR/AED? I already have a Red Cross Certification for First Aid/CPR/AED, but it expires in April of 2020. PFC (Join to see) SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL SSG(P) James J. Palmer IV aka "JP4" LTC Stephen F. No, it teaches you how to apply tourniquets and TC3. CPR and AED are for heart attacks. You'll never use CPR on the battlefield and you'll (likely) never apply tourniquets on civilians as an LEO.

Roger I was curious because I recently started a job as a Police Officer and was wondering if I'd still have to recertify in First Aid/CPR/AED through the Red Cross sir.

As a CPR/First Aid/AED instructor (and graduate of CLS), I can tell you without hesitation, the answer is an unequivocal 'NO'. That being said, your course manager may include CPR/FA/AED as part of the curriculum. If so, you would receive a separate certification card for that.
As a side note....The new industry standard is moving to American Heart Association (AHA) certifications. Might be worth looking into one of those classes instead of Red Cross.
