It is well known that the only thing you won't procure ever in military is efficiency, plus they are fond of "Rush and wait" stupid game. With that being said, do you think filling an IG compalint based on waiting something for unreasonable perplexed time works indeed?

This makes absolutely zero sense. IG isn’t a legal entity and can’t make anyone do anything. They provide recommendations to the commander and it’s the commanders decision whether or not to fix an issues

That's exactly right and why an IG complaint is nowhere near the same as a Writ of Mandamus

Not a lawyer, but I have stayed at a Holiday Inn.
A Writ of Mandamus compels a lower court to take certain actions, usually to correct mistakes in statutes of the law or legal precedents. The IG just investigates complaints to see if the problem was outside or against current regulations and policies. The IG advices the Commanding General and then the CG decides whether to do anything and then what actions..

After googling Writ of Mandamus I would have to say it isn't the same.

An IG Complaint initiates an investigation into a claim or accusation. The Inspector General reports directly to the Commanding General and acts as a third party when investigating issues. All findings are reported directly to the Commanding General.

And all IG can do is provide recommendations.

SSG (Join to see) - Very true. Ultimately it's on the CG to decide what to do once all the findings are on the table. I thought that a given with the IG reporting to the Commanding General

SSgt Christophe Murphy - Yes the IG reports to the CG, but the IG is a lower-level commander's resource as well.
If, SGT M feels the DA form 6 is not being used correctly and he is being unfairly placed on staff duty, SGT M can speak to the company commander, if SGT M still feels the issue is not being resolved he can make a complaint to the IG, who will have a form letter typed up asking the company commander to respond to the complaint, the CO will likely hand it over to the 1SG, who form a response for the CDR and provide supporting documentation. CDR returns filled-in form letter and supporting docs, IG will review and close out the complaint or perhaps make a recommendation to the commander to review AR 220-45 and correct the issues pointed out.

Does an IG Complaint serve an "urging purpose", similar to "Writ of Mandamus" in civilian judicial system?

Call IG. Explain the situation. Then, ask if the given explanation even falls in their realm.

You answered your own question. The military works on their time, not yours.

(Join to see) 1st, you are not in the military. The IG is not a service you have available to you.

For a service member (SM), the IG would ask the SM, have you spoken to your chain of command about the issue?, If the answer is not "YES I have in-person spoken to my commander"..the SM is going to be sent back to the unit to address the issue..or if criminality is involved they will be referred to MP's or CID.
-If the IG felt the SM had done what is required the complaint would be taken...regulations, local policy researched and if policies or regulations were followed, the commander would be notified of the complaint and recommendations to explain the situation to the SM in small words, short sentences so they can better understand.

- IF policy and regs followed but it appears there is an issue, the commander would be notified and suggested to look into the complaint.
-IF policy and regs were NOT followed and it appears there is an issue, the commander would be notified and suggested to look into the complaint.
Only a higher-level commander can order a subordinate commander to do something...The IG only makes recommendations
