Does MEPS treat Officer candidates different than recruits?

During my journey to get commissioned I went through MEPS 2 times.
First time
I was fast tracked through the line like it was nothing. I was in and out in 2 hours. 2nd time I just kept my mouth shut until the end when they figured out I was a potential officer ( I was there for 6, if they didn't realize it I would've been there longer) . We are not in at that point why the separation? or is it by design?

When I returned to MEPS the 2nd time for my officer physical, I received a big VIP mark on my name tag when I checked in at the front desk. Quite amusing I thought, considering I'll soon be back as a private again, except in a different system.

not at all, actually I thought it was going to be equal since at that point we are all civilian.. until my 2 experiences showed me otherwise about different treatment. A friend asked me my experience at MEPS since he is going in , and I told him about it. But when I looked back at my experiences I saw differences and wonder why it happened.
