Does our current legal immigration system offer a solution to the refugee issue?

I'm sure that I'm not alone in getting sick of being lectured by liberal politicians and celebrities about being a 'xenophobe' for not wanting us to import tens of thousands of potential terrorists from the Mideast or pay for them to be here. That said, my wife is a legal immigrant to this nation and part of the process for getting her here was that I had to sponsor her, along with my parents. Included in this was a legal obligation to financially support her so that she would not become a ward of the state. To wit, I propose that the government start a 'sponsor a refugee' program which would allow Americans to invite refugees into their own homes provided they agree to the same conditions that I had to to bring my wife legally to this country. I have no doubt that the Barack Obamas and Susan Sarandons of the nation will not hesitate in the least to embrace this.

Enforce existing laws? What a concept. Sadly we have an Administration with an AG, actually two successive ones, who publicly announced that they were going to enforce laws selectively. Forgive me for repeating myself but I can't find a better quote than the scene from "A Man For All Seasons" wherein Sir Thomas Moore admonishes his family who want him to disregard the law to protect himself from treachery. Moore lashes back, "England is planted thick with laws like trees and you would have me cut them down in pursuit of the Devil. What then would protect us when the Devil turns round about." (Forgive me for not quoting it accurately, but you get the idea)
Well, this Administration has cut down laws in pursuit of what they conceive to be the Devil and he has turned round about, leaving us without protection. When refugees are admitted without proper vetting or sponsors, they will both become wards of the state (leeches on funds confiscated from taxpayers) and potential terrorists in our midst. This situation is exacerbated by the same Administration that works assiduously to disarm us so that we can't protect ourselves.

Speaking of AGs, Holder endorsed Hillary. Nice, an AG found in contempt of Congress, supporting someone that holds Congress in contempt. That's irony or complicity.

There are lots of empty bedrooms in the White House. I'm sure the Obama family can afford to put a few families up!

Our Current legal Immigration needs to be cut back until we get a handle on our economic situation and Jobs for Americans. All illegal migrants should be sent back to their country of origin and get in the legal line. All children under the age of 18 should be turned back over to their country of origin. If they came in from Mexico then they go back to Mexico. We are not responsible for the irresponsibility of their parents or their government. We are stealing their citizens. We need to get our own house in order before we try to save the world. Its a national disgrace that Vets and Citizens go with out while we try to save the world.
