If racial prejudice is what you're looking for, you'll find it. If you are looking for a bunch of regular folks trying to get along and accomplish the mission, you'll find that too. Which is more important?

If I offended with my question, you missed my intent. We worked to overcome it so it was a non-entity. I am trying to see how the military can take lessons learned out into civilian America.

I was at my unit at Fort Polk back in 1982 for a few months when a new guy showed up. As he handed his orders to the company Training NCO, I said, "Hey, man, welcome to the unit."
He looked at me like I had just been caught eating a baby, and said, "Did you mean something racist by that?"

He was a racial incident LOOKING for a place to happen. He was chaptered inside of six months.

I know in the SF community where was little to none ... because it was not tolerated ... there was no room or time for it...
We saw more racism displayed by host nation Counties than was in "Group... "
the racism issues had been drilled out or were in the late 80-90's

At an institutional level, I do not believe it does but there are service members currently serving who have prejudices.
