If you mean that there is a problem with leadership these days, then the answer bears out careful consideration. There has been an unprecedented number of top officers being relieved of command to include 3 and 4 star generals and rear admirals in the last 7 years. This may be due to the administration's unwillingness to support officers who are not in agreement with their policy in part but a large number have been forced out due to misbehavior. I definitely think that there is a problem from the top down in my opinion.

Two main points from the video. We have become a political organization and are full of yes man. To save the military we need to increase candid feedback and inject young competent leaders into the ears of our decision makers or we can all just continue to take it. This video lists a few examples such as awards and APFT, but the honest list would be too long. I really appreciate the Sergeant Major of the Army listening to the Soldiers regarding the tattoo policy and now maybe headphones at the gym. I can tell he gets it, but I have one request please do something about the absolutely ridiculous flood of mandatory training that is taking away from leadership contact time with their troops. All the metrics may look good, but leadership is suffering and the troops are too.

My first reaction is that he should have joined the Marines. But, to be serious, I have to ask are his observations limited to a certain unit or post, or are they endemic to the Army? Either way, someone needs to do something, at least look into it.
