Does the guard have to pay you to quarantine per CDC guidelines if you are exposed to COVID at drill?

I doubt it, but I was asked and now have to explain why not to someone else and I'm at a loss.

Yes for some related situations….So… if someone during drill suddenly develops symptoms and tests positive while at BA then yes they can be put on orders if they cannot go home to quarantine safely.
Notice the “can”, “if”, etc Aka CDR discretion There is nothing in policy S far as I am tracking and I’ve been the guy tracking for the last 23 months of this sh$t

Thank you for the reply Sir. I think the WHO guidance sums up the counter argument for the Guard specifically to pay a workers-comp type of payment for those forced to quarantine due to military reserve service. Note I draw a distinction between reserve and active components due to the rejection/ assumption of financial responsibility after the requisite duty.
"If COVID-19 is contracted through occupational exposure, it could be considered an occupational disease and, if so determined, should be reported and compensated according to the international labour standards and the national schemes for employment injury benefits."

Yep SFC (Join to see). Notice the sane “if’s”? A definite scenario is said SM tests pos during drill Saturday am. Saturday night feels worse and goes to hospital and gets admitted. That person will be put on orders per regulation.
Unfortunately we are a young and healthy bunch so covid doesn’t kill is off like the rest of the population. Especially with most asymptomatic to mild… there’s a lot to lose ($$$) by enforcing such willy nilly.
Last point that makes it an issue is how can you 100% ascertain the SM got it at drill and not the night before? Etc etc.

COL (Join to see) I agree that people may take advantage of the system, however I hate with a burning passion when people are treated as if they are guilty until they can be proven innocent. I refuse to accept that is how leadership should treat their Soldiers. Obviously that is just a statement, and not an insinuation against you Sir. I appreciate you taking the time to discuss this subject here in an open forum where it has the potential to help others seeking advice on the issue.
On a positive note, I have located the guidance from my State detailing the COVID pay process for Soldiers that lack COVID coverage from their civilian employers. My State is pretty good, but I'm sure that policy is not out of the goodness of their heart and there is an NGB level policy that dictates those rules. If I can find that document I will provide a link for others that may need it.

I would run the question up your chain of Command. They would be able to speak to any policy that would determine the answer

There is in fact policy addressing pay for Service members that are exposed to COVID and forced to quarantine, incurring financial loss due to lack of civilian employer based coverage. If I can find the NGB document I'll post a link. Thanks all-
