Does the military still create piles of paper for everything they do?

The thread probably didn't get much attention because of the lack of applicable tags. Common mistake. I'd say "yes" as my "I love me book" has Promotion Orders, NCOERs, Awards, Certs, counseling, etc. That thing is huge.

Maybe try tagging 42A, military, records, and similar tags.

It absolutely does. Going digital has only done so much.

I ask this question because I just finished going through piles of old papers from my days in the military. It seems like I had at least 10 copies (some cases 25) of each set of orders I received. I must have had at least 25 copies of my promotion orders for each grade I was promoted to. 10 or more for duty assignments etc.
