Great idea...... but I have seen somethings go horribly wrong with these types of arrangemnets hopefully this one is different. We have one Soldier here in Washington that did that and came back to no dog whoever was boarding it sold the dog on craigslist and moved away. Even if they paid for you to get a replacement pet it still doesnt replace yours.

I agree, things could definitely go wrong in some of these agreements.  I would at least prefer to be an optomist, and HOPE that something like that wouldn't happen.  And perhaps some pre-planning coud make a difference...working with the caregiver in advance, communicating an expactation of regular contact/photos, etc.

Wow, great and simple idea.  You can help a fellow servicemember and recieve a part time pet while they are deployed.

I think there are people all over that just want to help support the military in some way.  This would be a great means of doing that.
