While I like the change, I don't know why we went away from blue in the first place. What goes around comes around, I guess

I like the ASUs but wish they would have kept the traditional service stripes and bus driver hat.

The "Bus Driver" hat is still available for wear, and unless directed otherwise (Like for a formation) you are authorized to wear it. The Beret is the basic headgear for the ASUs. I have both. It's called the Service Cap now......As for the service stripes, yeah they were nice, but now you can wear overseas service bars, which you couldn't do before...

Thanks for the heads up sir. I thought they had originally tossed around the idea of getting rid of it in 4th Quarter FY 14 but I can't find anything on it now. I spent good money on that thing and would much rather wear that than the beret.

I happy that those 2 or 3 soldiers who stand out in greens are now going to be forced to look like the rest.

After 14 years in the same set of greens I was issued, it was time for a change... And they were getting tight. I like the fit and look of the ASU.

I love the Blues. They fit and look better in my opinion. Everyone get off these guys that still have greens lol. There's a wear out date, THEY KNOW! I got my ass chewed like two years ago at a formal because my new joes(who got issued blues) had the ASU and I still had the Class A uniform. It pissed me off, so of course I went out and bought em.

You know what is funny SSG Feely? Is that everyone talks about the wear out date, but remember when ACUs and the new APFTs came out? Everyone rushed out and bought those, even though there was a wear out date. Seems that people only object when the investment is too large or they are not excited about the uniform change? As for you buying the ASUs, now your ahead of the game. Who knows, Marlow White may increase the cost as the mandatory wear date comes around?
