RP members and Connections - DROP A NAME!

WHO IS THE BEST LEADER, MANAGER, OR COMMANDER YOU EVER WORKED FOR?

Mine was my Mentor/Commander (RET) Colonel John P. Edwards. He was my Commander at the 357th Aviation Detachment, SHAPE, Belgium and inspired me to become an officer and finish college, and reach for the STARS.

Who was the BEST ever for you?

I've had a few, to include two civilian SES's. However, my top is LTC Bob Killebrew, Cdr 1-504 PIR, 82nd Airborne division and The Citadel '65. Took us on my first deployment to Operation Golden Pheasant in Honduras, March 1988.

I can't show that kind of favoritism, Sir! I have worked under far too many wonderful NCOs and Commanders. The best manager I've had outside of the Army though is Dedric Alexander at Five Below.

SGT (Join to see) That is great that you've had some really good NCOs and Commanders. That is always good to hear! Thank you!

LTCol Edwin Miller. He was and LDO ( Corrections Officer) as was the Battalion Commander at Support Battalion, Recruit Traning Regiment. He was a SSgt in Force Recon in Vietnam, awarded the Silver Star, Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
He was as hard as Woodpecker Lips and could run over a 285 PFT up until the day they Made him retire at over 33 Years in. He passed from cancer a few years back.

Either MAJ (then LTC) Mohandas M. Martin or MAJ Vic Underwood, both while at the 2-347th TSBN at Ft. Gordon.

Or DS (SFC) Michael A. Dill, my lead Drill Sergeant at Ft. Jackson (E/1-160th IN, 4th Plt), whom I had the honor to have join my father (fmr PO3 Sonar Tech J. D. Griffing, USN: Sunfish, SSN 649) in pinning on my Lieutenant's bars when I commissioned in '04.

Mine was 1ST Jackie O. Smith, he was my Platoon Sgt in 1-504 PIR, & later my Top Kick in 2-6 Inf in Germany. Awesome, tough, no-nonsense NCO, technically & tactically proficient to a fault. Taught me how critical it is to not only train subordinates, but take care of them and guide them.
