During my BCT, what if my spouse wants to move to another state/city? What do I need to do so the BAH rate can be updated accordingly?

During my BCT what if he wants to move to another state/city, what do I or him need to do so the BAH rate can be updated accordingly? Thank you

You have to go to S1 and fill out a start/stop BAH form.
Of course, that raises further questions. BAH fraud is one of the most convicted offenses in the Army and people serve actual jail time for it. Unless you have a very long AIT it doesn't make sense that your spouse would move, just to move again a few months later. On top of that, the Army is only going to pay what it would have cost to move your spouse and household goods from where you entered the Army. That means if you move away from where your first duty station will be, you may have to come out of pocket somewhat when you PCS. The only time it would make sense is if your AIT is PCS length and your spouse won't be going with you, which would fall under other rules.

Your BAH is based on where you're stationed, not where your spouse chooses to live.

For the BCT I won't be having a station yet, so I'm wondering if he moves to stay with his family, how should I update it for the BAH

SGT (Join to see) - The rate would be based on "the dependent’s location beginning the date of enlistment, entry on active duty, or the date active duty pay begins through the day before the day the Service member reports to the first PDS, including a training location for 20 or more weeks." If a change occurs while you're in basic, that will likely trigger questions being asked. I would leave it alone. Plus, when you start tinkering with your pay and allowances, things could get messed up (and take much longer to get straightened out).
