I got a DUI at ALC when I was a 5 and I'm a 6 now. I got my Gomor moved to my restricted file a couple years back...can I get my 1059 moved as well?

No.
Letters of reprimand, censure or admonition, and Article 15s can be moved to your restricted file.
AERs and OER/NCOERs are an accounting of your rated time and cannot be moved to your restricted file.

On a centralized board, what that 1059 says will be weighed against what your 1059s for completing ALC and SLC say, and more importantly what your senior raters have said about you for the last 5 years.

Probably not, since the 1059 is the official record of your course performance.

The move to the restricted file was an act of compassion. The 1059 is an official course record which is required in your file. I do not believe it can be removed. The fact that the CG restricted his letter made your path forward possible, so you think you should let off scot free?

I'm not getting off scot free. I've paid for what I've done and continue to do so on a daily basis.

I am still in uniform though and as long as I'm in, I'm going to strive for the next higher rank or position, as anyone should.

It wasn't compassion that led to my GOMOR being moved. I had to prove that the intended purpose had been served, which is based purely on regulation.

SSG (Join to see) its good to see that you can site the rules and regs. It was not my intention to do so. If there is more to why the CG filed your GOMAR, and it in any way lessens what you did then you may be able to appeal.

Listen, it appears you asked a question for which you knew the answer. I was not going to site policy and reg to patronize you. You are right, you need to continue to perform and push forward is the right answer.
