E6 in 3 years? Is there such thing as making rank too soon?

Not positive but I dont think 3 years TIS is enough for an E-6 SSG promotion or rank without a battlefield promotion. I dont even think that's enough time even with a waiver.

Yes. With experience comes rank and respect. I will assume this individual was in a critical MOS and was prmoted quickly in order to retain him/her.

I’m a little surprised here. Comments seem to be fair as to speed of a person to be promoted needs to rest with their ability to soak up the necessary leadership requirements for the rank. This is not just to the bottom of the enlisted ranks. 2LTs coming out of some podunk div III college with a degree in basketweaving is in the same position as the E5 or E6 promoted in 3-4 years. Both need to shut up and listen to older more wiser soldiers before they try to take on the world.

Yep, it is certainly doable, top performers typically standout, the key here is to take the opportunity to improve your skill sets and earn the respect of your subordinates ,superiors and piers , never sale yourself short
