I can't speak for every case, but I have seen a lot of service members fail when given too much responsibility too early, usually because they had a high pt score and did well at the board too.

I honestly don’t know. If you’re qualified, that’s all that matters.

E6 in three years is incredible.

Congratulations to everyone here who has done it

I agree. The same thing happened to me. I feel I was not ready to lead because I advanced so quickly. Having said that, I wouldn't trade my time in the Navy for anything. It saved me.

I made Lance Corporal in 9 months. After 19 months in Jan, being a squad leader ( with e-4's) under me I returned to the states and at my discharge date left with 27 months in grade. To quick?? Maybe!!

I went from E1-E4 in 16 months. E5 by 24. Then back to E4. Then E4-E1. Then back to E4 before I got out in my first 4 years in the Army. (78-82) After 24 years as an enlisted, I became an officer. Retired as a Captain. (Never saw O1)

I spent 8 year 3 months in the Navy getting in trouble and made it to E-4 and attended 7 captains Mast. I got the boot and came back on Waivers about 2 years later and joined the Army I went from E-4 to E-7 in 4 1/2 years. I learned alot from alot of great leaders I would say soldiers are like wine better with age and time

If their ability and grasp of the essential skillset is commensurate with rank and responsibilities of such then why not? My u it had a week every 2and quarter where E-4s stepped into the green tab enlisted slots for a week. It was twofold in cslue: first, it helped keep the E-4 mafia grounded in terms of perspective. Less bitching and moaning which negatively affected the conduct/,morale of junior enlisteds. Second it helped leadership identify those with the aptitude for greater responsibility and rank.

THAT, I haven't seen, but I did know an E-6 when I was in Germany long time ago. She had her shit together. First met her in 1990, and the last time I saw her was in 2000, she was graduating ANOC(Advanced NCO Course), the same time I graduated BNOC(Basic NCO COURSE).
