I seem to get into this type of discussion every few months with some of my friends. I have my opinion of what it is (I'll give in a few days).

Years ago I attempted to prove that the Federal Government was a Republic. After years of research I determined that it has always been, and still is, a Constitutional Democracy. It abides by Statute, or Written Law: a Law unto itself. Murder is whatever the Statute says it is. A true Republic operates under Common, or Natural Law: the Law of Nature and Nature's God. In a Republic the Citizen is Sovereign; the Government is a Subject. In a Democracy the Government is Sovereign and the Citizen is the Subject.
With the exception of Louisiana (French Statute Law), all the States were Republics until 1933 when they defaulted on their loans to the Federal Reserve Bank which is a Private International Corporation. The Federal Reserve Board regulates the Bank in the US, but its members are appointed from the Bank (conflict of interest?). Before 1933, it was against Common Law to murder someone. After 1933 it was against Section 130 of the NYS Penal Code. A person under Common, or Natural Law is responsible for his actions; under Statute Law he is responsible to the Code, whatever that may be.
If you come to my home and do damage, you are responsible (Common Law) to make it right. If your my child (Statute Law) I make rules for you to follow and spank you if you don't.
Democracy is another name for Socialism. Our present form is Socialism is similar to that of Germany during WWII: highly regulated private ownership of property and the means of production. Communism is government ownership of both property and the means of production. The difference is that in Socialism we live in highly regulated private homes while in Communism we live in government housing developments.
Soviet Union Communism failed ~ 1989. I saw a short paragraph in the back of a local paper reporting that Russia was converting to our form of property ownership and government. It appears that China has done the same.

I will go with Ben Franklin who was asked the question. His response was, we have established a Republic, if we can keep it. Good enough for me, although the jury is still out.

It pretty sad when the countries that have never had to opportunity to vote get 80%+ turn outs and we are lucky if we 40% turn outs, and it's called a good turn out!

Our Country is a Democratic Republic. This basically means we elect representatives that have the authority to pass laws on our behalf.

Supposed to be? Republic
What are we? Oligarchy - controlled by big money interest groups/families.

Obviously a Republic, but it has been destroyed by the socialist influence of subsequent immigrants. We'll never get it back without a full scale revolution. This country was formed on the belief in individual rights, and the governments sole function was to protect them. Look at what we have now. I am deeply saddened that the media runs our country.

When you Incorporate anything it goes into Sea Jurisdiction (aka Admirability Law) and no longer belongs in the Law of the Land (probably heard our grandparents use this type of language). Read Disclosure 101 and the book above. I went to school for Economic Crime Inv. So it's hard for me to shove a dozen books and numerous lectures. Also research Whites Knights (Class Action Suit for Farmers' Land Claim from way back). The real White Knigjts are military investigators who specialize in money...they've been the target of several attacks against against their personnel because of what they know/found. Yes, these supertroopers actual audited the Fed and found 800 Trillion in stolen and misappropriated everything! These Fucker's are desperate to keep their Shell Game (great book too by Army officer) moving since Dunford's on the move. Those Fed Notes in our pockets won't be shit very soon! NESARA (NESARALAW.us) all the way!
