I recently earned my EFMB. I completed it with many of my medics along with my PA. In the medical skills lane, even as a Medical Service Officer, I could not help but notice the outdated/wrong medical skills being taught. My PA and medics were so frustrated with the training. My PA wanted to ensure our medics brain dumped whatever they learned in EFMB after the event was over. Things like conducting several blood sweeps (all you need is one in real life, get that casualty out of their clothing ASAP and find all wounds) and undoing a tourniquet (especially undoing it first then putting on a pressure dressing) drive medical personnel insane. Why do you think this has not been updated? Should it be? I have heard that many people have wrote to the AMEDD C&S to try to change it? Is EIB outdated in some way, shape, or form as well? Are there schools that experience this issue?

I agree that it should be updated. I am a Reservist and Flight Medic in my civilian job. I am hoping that when I try for EFMB this year that I am able to learn the way its graded and forget how things are done in the EMS world.
